Astrophotography 101 Workshop

Are you wanting to get started in astronomy or astrophotography, but you’re not sure where to start? Do you have gear you already purchased but are not sure how it works? Do you want to get started in the Eastbay Astronomical Society Loaner Scope Program? Come to Chabot’s Astro 101 workshops and get your astronomy and astrophotography questions answered by Chabot staff under the Oakland skies on Chabot’s Observation Deck. 

 In these Astro-101 workshops, you will be able to try out different types of telescopes and astrophotography setups and receive one-on-one time with experienced amateur astronomers that can help get started in viewing and taking photos of the night sky.  We will also have dedicated time learning image capture and processing techniques. After you take one of these workshops you will be able to rent telescopes and other astronomy gear through the East Bay Astronomical Society’s loaner scope program.

Remember to dress for cold weather as we will be outside. This workshop can be purchased in conjunction with other Astro 101 workshops but is not required to be. 

Cancelation can only happen 48 hours before 12am the day of the workshop. If the workshop is sold out please email Mason to be put on the waitlist. Typically extra seats are added 48 hours before the workshop.
