IMMERSIVE TREK

Program also includes 2 drink tickets for beer, wine or non-alcoholic beverages and refreshments on a private section of the Observatory, with telescope viewing, weather permitting.

Arrival & Check-In

Free parking is available in the garage at the front of the Center. Please allow enough time to park and walk to check-in prior to the start of the program.

Check-in for the Immersive Trek is from 4:30–5:00 PM.

The hike begins promptly at 5:00 PM. Guests arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be permitted to join the hiking portion of the program for the safety and experience of the group.

What to Bring

  • Layers for changing evening weather conditions
  • Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
  • A reusable water bottle
  • A flashlight or headlamp
  • Mosquito repellent

Important Information

  • This is an outdoor evening hiking program on uneven terrain.
  • Participants should be comfortable walking for approximately 90 minutes at a moderate pace.
  • The exact hiking route will vary and is determined by educator based on that days trail conditions, weather, and group needs. The
  • Immersive Trek typically covers approximately 2.5–3.5 miles over the course of the program.
  • Telescope viewing is weather dependent and cannot be guaranteed.
  • All guests consuming alcohol must present a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • No outside alcohol is permitted.
  • No pets or companion animals are permitted on the hikes.
  • The hiking trails used during this program are not all ADA accessible and include uneven terrain and inclines.
  • Please refrain from using flash photography at the Observatory during telescope viewings.

Waiver Requirement

Prior to arrive complete our electronic HIKING WAIVER & CONSENT FORM. Please bring your ticket(s) for swift check-in upon arrival.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Chabot reserves the right to cancel programs due to low enrollment, severe weather, unsafe trail conditions, or other circumstances impacting guest safety or access to the trails.

If Chabot cancels a program, guests will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

Tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Guests may request to transfer their tickets to a future Hike & Sip date with at least 48 hours advance notice, subject to availability.
