Paint & Sip: "Solstice Stars: A Summer Sky Celebration"

Celebrate the start of summer with a celestial-themed Paint & Sip at Chabot Space & Science Center. We invite guests to explore the beauty of the summer night sky while painting a scene inspired by constellations, glowing stars, and warm, golden twilight. Enjoy wine, light bites, and fascinating astronomy insights about the summer solstice and the treasures of the summer sky.

Paint Workshop: Twilight to Starlight
Create a painting that captures the magical transition from twilight to night during the summer solstice. Guests will use rich hues to blend a glowing golden sunset into a starry sky adorned with constellations like Cygnus (the Swan) and Lyra (the Harp).

Astronomy Presentation: Summer Solstice and the Stars
Learn about the June solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and its significance in cultures around the world. Discover summer constellations like Hercules, Scorpius, and Sagittarius, and hear stories of their mythology. Explore bright stars like Vega, Altair, and Deneb, which form the Summer Triangle.
