July 7 to August 1, Mondays - Thursdays, 9:30am-3pm

Coding, AI and Electronics starts with students learning the fundamentals of coding using Python, and builds towards real-world applications that combine hardware, data, and artificial intelligence. In the first part of the course, students learn basic coding concepts using guided lessons and coding exercises, some of which relate to general space science. As students establish a baseline with coding principles, they begin exploring how AI can be used to recognize and process images with hands-on projects. Finishing the course, everything is tied together by fabricating and coding a working weather station. Using various sensors, students will learn how to collect, clean, and analyze data, then apply AI techniques to draw conclusions, identify patterns, or make simple predictions. 

• All sessions are in person at Chabot Space & Science Center at 10000 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA 94619. Classes will meet in Lab 2.
• Parking is free in the garage outside.
• Class meetings will be held each Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 3pm.
• Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own lunch. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Chabot's café will open with items for purchase.
• On Mondays and Tuesdays, the museum will not be open to the public. If you bring a parent or family member, they will not be able to stay in the museum while you are in the course.
• Computers and all necessary technology are provided. It is recommended you bring a notebook and pen.
• You must have completed at least 10^th grade by the start of the course to be eligible to enroll.
• Completion of the course will result in a certificate, certifying your skills in the course area.
• Up to 2 absences are allowed, provided that you make up the work online. These courses are fast-paced and hands-on and do not allow for travel or remote work for any extended periods.
• There is space for up to 20 students in each course.
• Tuition refunds can be processed no less than 2 weeks prior to start of the course.
• These courses are adaptable for students of any experience level in their subject area.
